Technology Licensing

Technology Licensing

Framework for accessing and utilizing institute-developed technologies for commercial applications.

What is Licensing?

Technology licensing is a contractual arrangement where the owner of intellectual property (the licensor) grants another party (the licensee) the rights to use, manufacture, sell, or otherwise exploit the technology. At our institute, licensing provides a pathway for our innovative research to reach the market and create societal impact.

Description of the Licensing Process

Our licensing process typically involves identifying promising technologies, assessing their commercial potential, protecting the intellectual property (e.g., through patents), marketing the technology to potential licensees, negotiating terms, and executing a license agreement. We aim for a transparent and collaborative process to ensure mutual benefit.

Benefits of Licensing with the Institute

  • Access to cutting-edge, validated technologies developed in our research labs.

  • Support and know-how from the inventors and technical experts.

  • Flexible licensing terms tailored to different business needs and scales.

  • Opportunities for collaborative research and further development.

  • Reduced R&D risk and faster time-to-market for new products.
